Location: Hybrid (Head Office: Quorum Business Park, Newcastle upon Tyne)

This is a hybrid working role, so you’ll need to be able to work from our Head Office one day per week.

Hours per week: 37 

Salary: £28,122

 

About the role

 

We’re excited to be looking for an Internal Communications and Events Officer to join our PR, Communications and Events team. This person will inspire connection and colleague engagement through the shaping of compelling narratives and high-quality content and events. A key part of this role will be building relationships with stakeholders across the business to ensure messaging resonates with our colleagues.

 

Through the delivery of internal communication campaigns, managing our intranet content, newsletters, events and more, this role will play a key role in engaging our colleagues and support us in achieving our strategy.

 

How you’ll make an impact:  

  • Working in collaboration with our People Services team to support the delivery of effective employee engagement activity that align to our people vision and help create a highly connected and collaborative culture.
  • Working closely with internal stakeholders and senior leaders to organise and deliver internal events, both virtually and face-to-face that are topical and engaging.
  • Researching, writing and delivering regular internal communications, including newsletters, campaigns, case studies, blogs and articles, to drive engagement and awareness across NCFE.
  • Managing SharePoint intranet content and supporting super‑user training to maintain a consistent approach to editorial standards, layout and accuracy.
  • Delivering our annual colleague recognition awards programme to maximise entries from across NCFE colleagues and departments and ensure we deliver an engaging and uplifting awards ceremony.

We’d love to hear from you if you offer the following:  

  • Degree or equivalent level qualification in a communications-related subject such as marketing, public relations, English, events
  • Demonstrable workplace experience in internal communications.
  • Experience of effective management of an intranet and publication of key messages
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills with ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Strong copywriting, editing and proofreading skills with the ability to tailor content for different audiences and translate complex information into clear, engaging messages
  • Proven ability to collaborate across teams and influence stakeholders at all levels.
