Location: Hybrid (Head Office: Quorum Business Park, Newcastle upon Tyne)

This is a hybrid working role, so you’ll need to be able to work from our Head Office one day a week

Hours per week: 37

Salary: Up to £30,000 depending on experience 

 

About the role

 

We’re excited to be looking for a PR and Communications Officer to join our PR, Communications and Events team who will inspire connection and engagement through the shaping of compelling narratives and high-quality content, ensuring our messaging resonates with target audiences and strengthens brand visibility.

 

Through the delivery of integrated communication campaigns, content, newsletters, PR initiatives, events and more, this role will play a key role in bringing our core purpose to life, strengthening our brand reputation and support us in achieving our strategy

 

How you’ll make an impact:

  • Support with the implementation of a strategic PR plan aligned to organisational priorities, covering major announcements, policy developments, sector news, and case studies. 
  • Develop/deliver proactive PR activity to strengthen our profile, raising NCFE’s visibility in our priority sectors and positioning NCFE as the awarding organisation of choice.
  • Plan and deliver integrated communications across multiple channels that build a consistent and trusted brand, keeping customers informed, strengthening our reputation, and ensuring our messaging reflects NCFE’s purpose and values.
  • Create clear, engaging content for diverse audiences by translating complex information into accessible newsletters, case studies, blogs, web updates, FAQs, and social posts that support customers, partners, and stakeholders
  • Manage and deliver impactful, sector‑aligned events from concept to evaluation, ensuring meaningful engagement and showcasing our strengths across priority sectors.

We’d love to hear from you if you offer the following:

  • Degree level qualification in a marketing, communications or English related subject and/or Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) qualification, CIPR or similar 
  • Prior experience in a comparable communications and events delivery role including experience of delivering PR plans, working with the media, delivering high quality events and working on multi-channel communication activities 
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills/ability to work to tight deadlines  
  • Excellent copywriting, editing and proofreading skills, including exceptional grammar and spelling
  • Stakeholder management and collaboration skills to work effectively across teams and influence colleagues at all levels
