About the role

 

We're excited to be looking for a Chief Moderator to join our External Quality Assurance team on a flexible worker contract for the following qualification.

 

Level 1/2 Technical Award in Engineering

 

The purpose of moderation is to check that centres are correctly and consistently assessing student work and that the materials submitted for moderation meet the required standard.

 

As Chief Moderator you'll be expected to make a judgement on the accuracy and validity of the provider and moderators assessment decisions by continuously analysing data and evidence which forms part of the quality process in order to ensure qualification and regulatory compliance.

 

Our moderation window begins on 28 May 2025 and ends on 30 June 2025.

 

How you'll make an impact:

  • Recruiting, training and performance managing Moderators across the relevant sector area
  • Ensuring that quality assurance and moderation is delivered in line with qualification and customer requirements
  • Ensuring the moderation team maintain compliant with all regulatory conditions relating to moderation of centre assessments
  • Coordinating the day to day activities of the moderation team throughout the moderation window

We'd love to hear from you if you offer the following:

  • A minimum of a level 3 qualification in the advertised subject area
  • Evidence of working within the sector 
  • Experience in assessment & internal quality assurance
  • Knowledge and experience of managing moderation processes
  • Excellent report writing skills
