    Job Description

     

    NCFE, one of the UK’s fastest growing, most innovative qualification awarding organisations, is looking for a Business Intelligence Developer.

     

    A bit about us…

     

    The IT Services Team provides IT systems and infrastructure including mobile telecommunication.  We cover application design, development, testing and run a Service Desk providing support for both internal and external services.  We also provide Business Intelligence reporting services. The Project Services Team provides Project Management including Business Analysis services, supporting colleagues in the successful delivery of their projects.

     

    A bit about the job…

     

    The role of a Business Intelligence Developer is to ensure and maintain data integrity so that all information provided to the business users is accurate and consistent. They will be working with stakeholders on best methods of retrieving data and building and delivering suitable data solutions for the business users.

     

    Production of both regular and ad hoc reports using SQL Server Reporting Services and SQL Server Analysis Services will be required. This role works closely with the Senior Business Intelligence Database Administrator to support the implementation of the BI and data strategies. They also provide support for all stages of the development process from development to production including disaster recovery, and contribute to the continuous improvement of the IT Services team by assisting in implementing and embedding ITIL processes.

     

    A bit about you…

     

    This role requires a candidate who has:

    • Proven hands-on continuous work experience in developing reporting solutions (reports, dashboards, scorecards) using Microsoft products.
    • Strong Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), Analysis Services (SSAS) and Integration Services (SSIS) knowledge.
    • Proven experience working with Microsoft SQL Server 2008(R2), 2012 or 2014.
    • Strong skills around TSQL, DAX and MDX languages.
    • Excellent knowledge of Excel (2010+).
    • Working knowledge of Power BI (On-premises, hybrid or SharePoint Online platform) including; Power Query – Creating queries from disparate sources (‘M’ language), Power Pivot – Data Modelling concepts and experience using DAX expression, Power View – Ability to build front-end solutions from Data Model, Power Map – Knowledge of creating effective tours based on Data Model and Q&A Feature – Experience of creating custom featured questions
    • In-depth knowledge of Reporting Services including; Reporting Web Services, Performance monitoring, Service troubleshooting, Implementing security best practices and Report Builder
